Frank was awesome in explaining what was wrong and documented everything with pictures. He was not trying to sell me on everything little thing that could be done, But was helpful in explaining what really was broken and needed to be fixed soon or today. He was honest, respectful, kind and went out of his way to make the experience fantastic. I highly recommend him and his company. I was also extremely pleased and excited that the day I called I got someone out to fix the problem that day. That was impressive.

Review of Adon Complete Air Conditioning and Heating

A service person should always carry new air filters with them on service calls, Every systems needs them replaced. Its hard for me to get in the attic and replace a filter at 82 years of age, I would have no problem paying extra for it at time of service.

Upon arrival I found that drain line was clear. Drain line was draining properly. Water was leaking from the sides of the air handler down to the floor due to dirty evaporator coil. A dirty evaporator coil is restricting airflow, causing system to not keep up and producing condensation on the sides of the air handler. System was not keeping up, thermostat read 80° and it was set to 75°. I recommend an evaporator coil cleaning to help the system perform at peak performance. The evaporator coil cleaning that I recommend is a pull and clean, where we pull the evaporator coil from the cabinet and chemically clean it.

Upon arrival, I found that the drain line was clogged. This was causing water to flow over primary drain pan into return Plenum. The water was dripping out of return Plenum onto ceiling. I removed drain line and cleared it with nitrogen. All of the excess water that was in the primary drain pan flowed out. Drain line is now clear and return. Plenum should dry out within a couple of days. System is running properly at this time.

Customer heard a loud noise coming from downstairs condenser last night. He shut it off immediately. On arrival today, turned system on to cool. Customer heard it and said it isn’t making the noise anymore. Checked amp draw on compressor and condenser fan motor. Measured starting amp draw on compressor. Starting amps are over the limit, recommended adding hard start kit to system to prolong life of the compressor. Checked drain lines and operation of drain switch, it was not causing any issues. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperature split. System is cooling properly at this time. Customer will let us know if it happens again, he said he would also try to video it so we can hear.

Upon arrival I found that primary drain line was clogged a little and water was pushing into the float switch, causing it to trip. I offered a drain line clearing to the homeowner and perhaps that would solve the water issue. Due to float switch tripping I believe that’s why the house was having trouble cooling, now that system is properly draining. The system should have no issues.

Upon arrival, I found the unit turned off. I turned it on and felt air flow at the return, and I proceeded outside. I found that the system will come on and run. After thoroughly evaluating the system, I noticed that the system is extremely low on R22 refrigerant. The leak is determined to be in the evaporator coil by visual inspection. I discovered oil in the primary drain line. The compressor appears to have sustained some internal damage from running while frozen and low refrigerant. The minimum repair that is advised is replacement of the evaporator coil and condenser.

The upstairs units ducts are full of growth, the plenum is oversized causing a static pressure issue, and the upstairs outdoor unit needs a deep chemical cleaning(discounted). There are vents that need to be cleaned that are approximately 18” to 20” high. We will need a 12ft to 14ft tall ladder. The upstairs has return cavities that turn into ducts in the attic. We will need to replace the plenum, install existing duct work, and ApcoX. The job was financed and was scheduled for the 25th 8am arrival time. ALL WORK IS FOR UPSTAIRS.

Upon arrival, I found the downstairs condenser making an awful noise. I discovered that the condenser fan motor is locked up and went over options to address this issue. The compressor may have sustained damage by the noise the unit was making. It sounds like an electrical arch. I informed her that the equipment is 14 years old. The customer opted to have our comfort specialist come out and go over condenser/evap coil options. These units will need a supply plenum.

I installed the new blower motor and tested it to ensure proper operation. Also, I needed to replace the capacitor from a 7.5 to a 10 per the motor. The customer asked for me to treat the drain. I treated it and informed her that we will likely need to clear it. We agreed on giving it a week to see if it stops dripping before unclogging it. I generated an estimate and sent it over. The system is cooling upon departure.

The noise is coming from the added air flow from cleaning the system. This is resulting in a slight rattle at the supply grills. I addressed the one in the bedroom to show them what was causing the noise. Customer stated they wanted to address the other themselves. I collected my dispatch for the call.

Preformed single system maintenance on a 2020 trane unit. Heat pump. I tested all electrical components on the inside unit. All tested within manufacturer specifications. I treated the drain line with the algae guard that the client had. Client did not have filters for me to change at the time of this visit. I tested all electrical components on the outside unit. All tested within manufacturer specifications. I rinsed the outside unit with water at today's visit. I spoke with the client about surge protection. He wants to save up a little and will call back in when he is ready.
