Installed EEV control board and sensors. I managed to get the system to start working again with the new parts, but I was met with another issue on the outdoor unit. From the attic, I heard it kick on and rushed outside to investigate. I found the contactor chattering due to bad connections at the defrost board. We need to replace the defrost board and wiring harness to ensure good connections are present. Also, I observed that the contractor is completely charred. My recommendation is a new outdoor system due to other components being in rough shape, mice have been present, and the system being 12 years old without warranty. At the minimum, we need to replace the defrost board and wiring harness. Replacing of EEV board and 2 sensors on the Trane system

Found one of the systems completely down due to fault codes indicating a “high super heat” but the system hasn’t ran and still gives the same code even after a reset. Referenced the owners manual and determined that the system needs a new EEV board and both sensors for the coil. Requesting pricing for repair and also spoke with owner about possible replacement once the price is determined. The other system seems to be working but was short cycling when I arrived. I shut the system down and allowed it to cool and it appeared to run and heat fine but my guess is one of 3 things is happening : system is over charged, system is having a problem with one of the metering devices, or the system is over working due to trying to carry the load of the whole house. I consulted Mitch and he recommended we reach out to tech support. Due to the time of the call, we will have to reach out to them another day and get back with the customer.

Found breaker to heating strips turned off. System has 15kw heat kit but there is only one set of 240 and is using only 10kw. I traced the wires during a call for the heat pump. I found that when the Y wire gets plugged into the defrost board it drops the 24v. This indicates the board is shorted and causing a voltage drop. Plus, it has a big burn spot due to an ant. System is heating using the aux heat and rose the temp 4 degrees before leaving.

Ductless AC repair. Mini split pump was full of water and customer says water would run down wall from the system. Upon first looking at the pump I found that some bugs get inside of the filter housing for the pump. Pump is no longer working. Pump needs to be warrantied out
